Museum Store

Tequesta, FL (November 15,
2006) -- If you are just returning for the season, or perhaps
haven't visited the Lighthouse Center for the Arts in a
while, you are in for quite a treat.
What
was once the gift shop, located just off the lobby in Tequesta's
"little gem," is now The Museum Store at the Lighthouse
Center for the Arts. The Center is located at 373 Tequesta
Drive, just west of US 1 in Gallery Square North .
Completely redecorated since
last season, the new look in the store is part of a recently
completed agreement with the Florida Craftsmen, Inc. All
items offered in the Museum Store are hand-crafted art objects
created by artist members of the organization.
Based
in St. Petersburg, Florida Craftsmen, Inc. is a statewide
non-profit service organization founded in 1952 that plays
an important role in the vitality of crafts in communities
throughout Florida. "Florida Craftsmen's mission is
to broaden the public's understanding and appreciation of
fine craft art and to encourage professionalism and high
aesthetic standards among Florida's craft artists,"
said Maria Emilia, executive director of Florida Craftsmen,
Inc.
Shoppers at the Museum Store
can select from a wide array of items including hand-crafted
jewelry, pottery, wood sculptures and blown glass objets d'art. "We are thrilled with the new look and with
our relationship with Florida Craftsmen," said Sonya
Davis, executive director at the Lighthouse Center. "Our
new store merchandise is very much in keeping with the high
quality yet affordable items carried by our neighboring
merchants. Collectively, we're a shopping destination --
plus our exhibitions this season are definitely worth the
trip."
