Aleshia Rae Wolanske

Aleshia Rae Wolanske is the owner of A. Rae Of Sunshine Design and combines resin art, nature’s elements, and live edge wood, to create one of a kind custom statement pieces of art, furniture and home decor.  Every piece has a story and is created with chosen elements specific to that individual or group.

Aleshia was strongly influenced in her younger years by her mother, a Realistic Painter, and her father who was an Exotic Wood Carpenter and Wooden Toy Manufacturer.  She grew up showing and training Quarter Horses alongside her stepfather for over 20 years and has always had a love for animals and nature.

In her college years, while obtaining her BFA in Visual Communications at Cazenovia College, she was an Intern turned Artistic Director, with Stone Quarry Hill Art & Nature Park in Cazenovia NY.  There, she had the opportunity to co-curate art shows, coordinate world renowned artist installations and performing arts groups, including Alvin Alley Dance Troop, teach Art and Nature Summer Camps and handle all Graphic Design pieces.

Following college, Aleshia gained work and knowledge in a variety of fields, including Logo Design on toys sold internationally, Freelance Design for an Advertising Agency, Director If New Faces for a Model & Talent Agency, and Brand Campaigns for Wine and Spirits to mention a few.

Once Aleshia started dabbling into resin, she became fascinated with its versatility and ability to essentially preserve elements from nature.  Due to her past experiences, she also does not shy away from experimenting with materials and design concepts.  This led her to an extensive collection that constantly evolves and pushes the envelope.  She feels free from the desk and was rewarded by her use of hands.  It comes so easy and natural to her.  Therapeutic.  The nature of the self-leveling resin taught her to let go of some control and respond to it impulsively.  She’s able to combine so many passions of hers, to create sculpture like furniture and decor.

Aleshia truly enjoys sharing her gift and knowledge through teaching Resin Art Classes.  She strongly feels art is an essential tool to support self-expression and confidence as a creative outlet.
