Amalia Fotini Mermingas began her artistic career in drawing and painting, but quickly found a love for ceramic sculpture. Growing up in Athens Greece, her admiration and curiosity for all things ancient and mysterious came at a young age. Amalia earned a BFA in Ceramics and a BA in Art History from Florida Atlantic University and an MFA from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in Ceramic Sculpture. Her current works focus strongly on landscape, memory, travel, and writing. She always prioritizes travel and art making and teaches ceramic sculpture at Lighthouse ArtCenter in Tequesta Florida.
