Barbara Powell

​Barbara Powell is originally from Western Massachusetts. She received her B.A. from Smith College and later a M. A. from the University of Rhode Island.  Barbara’s professional career spans over 20 years in water resource management at the state, county and local level. Throughout this time, she has defined her ceramic skills through classes at Broward College, Palm Beach State College and the Armory Art Center. Barbara has served as past director for the Wellington Art Society and is currently a member in the Ceramic League of Palm Beach. Barbara’s work explores a variety of alternative surface treatments over more traditional forms to capture the viewer’s attention from both a physical and visual level.
