Danny Folkman

While I enjoy painting all kinds of scenery, LA is my lady. Growing up in New Jersey, I can’t say I was particularly inspired by the overcast skies and flat suburbs of the east coast, so the diverse scenery, year round sunshine and laid back lifestyle of California seemed like paradise. I was smitten.

I have been drawing as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t until my junior year of high school that my art teacher pushed me to start painting. I did not attend any art school or college, but instead have sought instruction from my favorite professional artists through books, workshops and online courses. The workshops gave me the opportunity to explore the country and solidified my love for plein air painting and the west coast.
