Frederick Putney, Ph.D*
Bio:
Frederick Putney was born in Missoula, Montana, and attended the University of Washington. He served in the U.S. Navy for five years following graduation before obtaining his Ph.D. from Stanford University. Fred served on the faculty of Columbia Business School for 40 years, originating a course in Investment Strategies and additionally serving as Deputy Vice President for the Health Services Campuses of the university. He is the co-founder of Riverside Group, which provides corporate training and development to major institutions and nonprofit organizations. He also co-founded Brownson & Associates (Brownson, Rehmus & Foxworth’s predecessor organization) in 1969, having developed the proprietary “Base Case” software, still used today by BRF in its updated version.
