Jen Allen
Bio:
Jen Allen is a studio potter, educator, and mother based in Morgantown, West Virginia. She discovered clay in 1995 and has been fully immersed in ceramics ever since. Jen earned her BFA from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, and her MFA from Indiana University, Bloomington. Jen was recently named 2026 Ceramic Artist of the Year by Ceramics Monthly and Pottery Making Illustrated. Jen and her artist husband, Shoji Satake, have two children, Annelise and Finn. When she’s not creating pottery, teaching, or designing templates, you’ll likely find her in the woods with her pup Margot, or at the hockey rink, cheering on her kids’ teams.
