LuAnn Widgeren
Bio:
As far back as I can remember, I have loved making art, being inspired by nature. In my work I enjoy trying to capture the complexities in nature, with its layers, subtle and not so subtle shifts in color, light and shadows. My paintings have been described as “timeless”, serene and atmospheric. The old Florida and nostalgic scenes, take hold of me, and I in turn relish the opportunity to be out in nature working to capture the essence of what drew me to the scene.
Raised in rural Wisconsin, LuAnn had a rewarding career, with advanced degrees, teaching art, and as an art director in a large urban school district.
LuAnn has won numerous awards, exhibitions that have included the American Impressionist Society and Oil Painters of America. She has been featured in several issues of PleinAir Magazine. She is represented at Wantoot Gallery, Mineral Point, WI and the Artists Guild of Anna Maria Island, Holmes Beach, FL
LuAnn resides in Holmes Beach, FL and on the Wisconsin River near Portage, with her husband Jerry and paint dog Sadie.
