Lynn Yuhr
Bio:
Lynn Yuhr is a self-taught artist creating contemporary art jewelry using primarily polymer clay. She has a Masters degree in geology and spent 30 years observing and interpreting nature and the impacts from man-made structures. The intersection of these observations (natural and man-made) is what has stuck with her and influences her work.
She is passionate about polymer clay and its magical properties that allow it to play well with other materials. She loves experimenting and combining polymer clay with other materials and pushing its boundaries. In 2017, she won an emerging artist award from the International Polymer Clay Association.
Lynn believes that the magic happens in the making—giving time to a creative practice; letting yourself become immersed in the process. As you lean into the process, you notice the changes along the way, in your work and in yourself. She has built a second career teaching what she has learned both in-person and virtually since 2018 for guilds, at conferences and various jewelry studios across the country.
Lynn shares her journey on her studio blog, Flying Squirrel Studio, as well as Instagram (@lynnyuhr).
Her work is available through Artful Home.
