Bio:
During years spent studying oil painting at the atelier-style Marin Art School in California and fine-tuning her skills under the tutelage of nationally known oil painters, Manon developed her own distinct contemporary impressionistic style. Even though Florida is a cornucopia of inspiration for this transplant from Germany, more important than the subject matter itself is Manon’s goal to capture the effects of light on a subject and the feeling it evokes, expressing it through interesting patterns, luminous color, and juicy brush strokes. Manon participates in juried and invitational plein air competitions and exhibits frequently in juried shows, locally and nationally. Her paintings were selected for and won awards in numerous shows by the National Oil and Acrylics Painters Society, the American Impressionist Society, and others. Manon’s work has been recognized by attaining signature status with the National Oil and Acrylic Painters’ Society, continues to win awards, and has been included in publications such as American Art Collector, Fine Art Connoisseur, Plein Air Magazine, and Southwest Art. Manon is a sought-after instructor teaching national and international painting workshops to a loyal following of students. Her work is being represented by galleries in Naples, Fl, and St. Augustine, FL, and can also be seen at the studio she maintains at the Village Art Studios in Tequesta, FL. Manon has repeatedly been invited as a faculty member for one of the leading plein air conventions, Plein Air South. Ultimately, Manon aims to communicate her joie de vivre through paintings that reflect the color, light, and joy Manon feels surrounded by and is ever so grateful for.
