Martha (Martie) Sachs

Martie has been an active business executive and a long-time supporter of various civic and charitable organizations. She and her husband, Bob, have their primary home in Juno Beach, Florida, and also enjoy homes in Birmingham, Michigan and in Stratford, Ontario. They have two married children and five grandchildren. From 1990 to 2001 Martie served as Vice President of Operations at Arden Companies, a company founded with Bob in 1964 that manufactures home furnishings.  From 1978 to 1990 she worked at Cooperative Services, Inc., a non-profit consumer housing cooperative with more than 5,000 members, serving as the Director of Development and Co-General Manager. As an enthusiastic supporter of the Stratford Festival of Canada, Martie has, from 1999 to 2018, served in various volunteer capacities, including Chair of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival of America Board from 2010-2012. She was elected to the Festival’s Board of Governors in 2016. Martie has a Bachelor of Arts degree (1963, minor in art history) and Master of Arts (1978, in gerontology) from Wayne State University.   She has a lifelong love of the arts.
