Melissa Sixma Lingo
Bio:
Melissa Sixma Lingo is a senior print artist for fashion brand Lilly Pulitzer. Since 2012, she has helped design original clothing prints, paint canvases and murals for the Lilly retail spaces, artwork for their communication channels, and live paint at various company events. She attended the Savannah College of Art and Design for her BFA and MFA degrees in Fibers and is a Francis Larkin McCommon scholar and graduate fellow. Melissa has experience working for nonprofit organizations like the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, and ArtHaus in Port Orange, Florida. She has had visual and retail experience at Anthropologie’s retail store in Oakbrook Illinois, and Satchel accessories boutique in Savannah, Georgia. Melissa has had her work exhibited at the American Craft Council show in Baltimore, Maryland, the NRW forum in Düsseldorf, Germany, the SCAD Vernissage in Lacoste, France, and various galleries in Savannah, Georgia. Melissa has had her artwork published through her career at Lilly, notably the illustrations in Lilly Leas Ferreira’s new children’s book Life & Lilly (2023), and most recently the powder room mural at the new goop villa at the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida. Melissa loves to focus on color and form, and to embrace nontraditional methods of creating artwork.
