Mi-Sook Hur
Bio:
Mi-Sook Hur is a metalsmith and enamelist known for contemporary works combining metal and vitreous enamel. She earned her BFA from Seoul National University and her MFA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. A Fulbright Scholar, she is a professor at the School of Art and Design at East Carolina University.
Hur has received awards from the Enamelist Society, the Niche Awards, and the Arkansas Arts Center. She has completed residencies at the Kohler Arts Center, Haystack, and Jentel, and has taught over 60 enameling workshops. She contributed a chapter on Limoges enameling to The Art of Fine Enameling.
Her work has been shown internationally and is held in collections including the Yale University Art Gallery and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
