Michele Byrne
Bio:
Michele Byrne is an award-winning artist best known for her figurative plein air work. She paints primarily in oils and often explores the theme of The Art of Conversation, painting cafés, street scenes, beaches, musicians, or any social situation where people gather to converse. Michele has a BFA from Kutztown University and studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She had an Artist Residency in Key West with TSKW in 2013 and since that time has taught workshops in Florida and Georgia. Her paintings are regularly shown in magazines and national shows. She is a sought-after instructor known for her lively, informative classes with a touch of humor. She teaches across the United States as well as Mexico, Europe, and online. After doing the plein air competition circuit for over 15 years while living on the east coast, she now lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Michele was a Faculty Demonstrator for the Annual PleinAir Convention in 2014, 2019, 2022, and 2023 and has three instructional videos with Liliedahl Productions on Palette Knife Painting. She has won numerous awards for her plein air and studio work and was featured on the January 2020 cover of PleinAir Magazine. Michele is a member of the Oil Painters of America, The Salmagundi Club, PAAC, and a Signature member of the American Impressionist Society and PAPNM.
