Nancy Costello
Bio:
Nancy Costello grew up in Brooklyn and first studied Fashion Design at Pratt Inst. then became a freelance photographer and received a BS degree from SUNY and an MFA from NYU. She worked as a photo editor at Newsday for 10 years, but the whole time she loved making jewelry! Her inspiration comes from stories: stories about this beautiful earth, dreams, and fragments of memories to express a deeper feeling and connection with the wearer. She’s been making jewelry from shells and found objects that were discarded since she was about 4 or 5 years old. Nancy started making jewelry with enamel at the Armory Art Center with Alicia Jane Boswell about 5 years ago. She fell in love with it because it allowed her to express HER stories!!!
