Renae Wang
Bio:
Renae Wang ( b.1995) is a California-based painter working in oil and gouache. She is known for her nocturnal landscapes of the California coast. These nocturnes often feature “non-places” like gas stations, freeways, and hotels. Her work explores the overlooked beauty of mundane everyday places, as well as the solitude and whimsy of the night.
Renae received a BFA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MFA from the Laguna College of Art and Design, where she currently works as an adjunct professor. She is also an instructor at New Masters Academy. She was featured in the Southwest Art Magazine’s article 21 Under 31. Her work has been collected by the Hilbert Museum. She has exhibited at sites like Hilbert Museum of California Art, the Salmagundi Club, Laguna Art Museum, California Art Club, and Laguna Plein Air Painters Association.
