Reneé Schwaller
Bio:
Reneé Schwaller’s main body of work consists of functional, beautifully hand-crafted pottery and clay sculpture with playful/folk like designs. Her entire collection of work is created from start to finish in the studio at her Door County, WI home/business, where she draws inspiration from her natural surroundings and the simple things that bring her joy. Reneé has her B.A. in communications from The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her studies in pottery began after working at The Potters Wheel in Fish Creek, WI during the early 90’s. She studied pottery at The University of Minnesota-Minneapolis and the University of Hawaii. Reneé has exhibited her work at several juried and invitational shows throughout Wisconsin and has taught pottery workshops in and out of the state. She currently spends most of her time running her gallery, and in the studio making work at Off the Wheel Pottery. It is situated on an old farmstead her and her husband have renovated over the past 29 years. It is there, where they got married, opened a business, had two children, lots of dogs and cats, planted tons of trees and gardens, remodeled the house, granary, and barn and built a pottery studio.
