Shari LaBrenz
Bio:
Shari LaBrenz is a life long resident of Kalamazoo, MI. After early retirement from a twenty-five year banking career in late 1999, she returned to a childhood love of art and started taking classes in fused glass. That experience led to the question of how glass cabochons could be set in metals and a passion in metalworking was born. Shari is a lifetime learner and serious jeweler who works primarily from her home studio or at the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach, FL, her winter home. Shari’s work has been sold in various local arts show, and at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts Gallery Shop. Shari has attended multiple metalworking classes at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts and at Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. Other workshops attended include FSGSE workshops, FSGNE Winter Workshop, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Pocosin School of Fine Crafts, Metalwerx, an individual class with enamelist Sandra McEwen, and Visiting Master Artists Workshops at Armory Art Center.
