Tat got her formal education in fine art and interior design in Russia. From ages 11 to 15, she attended Children’s art school in addition to regular school classes. It was four hours of classes every day except weekends. After art school, at age 15, she left home and passed the exam to Art College. The next four years were hard but very interesting in her life. She learned a lot more about art and, for the first time, visited the Hermitage where she saw the Impressionists for herself. She fell in love with some of them and still does! Claude Monet and August Renoir, Degas and Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh and Cezanne. And of course she was influenced by Russian masters such as: Surikov, Repin, Shishkin, Serebryakova, Kystodiev, Vrubel and many more. At age 19 she earned a bachelor’s degree in fine art and interior design. For 20 years she worked as a designer full time, raised 2 boys in marriage and always wanted to paint but didn’t really have time for it. In 2000 her second marriage brought her to the US.
After some time she began to participate in juried art festivals nationwide. Later, more and more, she began attending plein air events and winning awards.
These days Tat is primarily doing plein air events but attending 2–3 national juried Art Festivals.
She is an award winner in numerous plein air events and art shows.
