Tom is a professional fine artist who works in oil, but has worked in acrylic, pastel, and watercolor in the past. He has always made his entire living from his art. His wife has always been his bookkeeper. Tom has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Laton School Of Art in Milwaukee. He won the highest scholarships each year and graduated with honors from the 5th rated private art school in the nation at the time. He completed his academics through Marquette and University of Wisconsin. Tom was selected to work part time by a Milwaukee Commercial Art Studio, Advertising Art Studio, because of the quality of his work in the school’s freshman show. Tom became an illustrator and after a few years started his own illustration and design company, Nachreiner, Boie Art Factory, Ltd. The company employed 25 artists and worked nationally and internationally by working for accounts like Kimberly Clark and Miller Brewing Company. Tom illustrated many calendars, brochures, posters, and annual reports. Tom started teaching employees in his company. He also taught seminars at the local art school, Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. Since Tom retired and became a full time Fine Artist, he has taught dozens of workshops all over the Midwest. Tom has been exhibiting his art in the best galleries in Milwaukee and Wisconsin and is in yearly National Juried Exhibitions of Oil Painters Of America and the American Impressionist Society, which take place all over the United States. Tom teaches all levels of students both studio and plein air painting. He concentrates on helping students which includes painting in a healthy way. He stresses positive thinking, the benefits of a creative life, and above all how to have fun while painting.
