Learning to draw begins with learning to see. In this class for adults, students will explore the fundamental difference between simply looking at something and truly seeing it. Through observational exercises, drawing line techniques, negative and positive space, and value gradation. We’ll slow down the process to train the eye and hand to work together. Students will develop their ability to perceive proportions, shapes, edges, and relationships more accurately laying the foundation for confident, expressive drawing. Whether you’re a beginner or returning to drawing after a break, this class will sharpen your skills and deepen your understanding of visual perception. Suggested reading – Drawing on the Right side of the Brain by Betty Edwards is a great book to look at.
