Use your mark making techniques on clay and learn the secrets of combining your drawing and sculpting skills to make bas relief sculpture (aka low relief). Each student is asked to provide source imagery for sculpting for example; photo of a family dog or an interesting magazine clip of a garden. Images should be around 8 ½ by 11 in. This class is designed to be taken in conjunction with the follow week’s workshop, Molding and Cold Cast your Bas Relief. No previous sculpture experience required, but some drawing proficiency is recommended. This Workshop includes 25lbs of clay and one bisque firing.
