This class is geared to safely experience many different metal casting techniques. You will be able to use your castings in Jewelry and/or small Metal Sculptures. Metal casting techniques will include Broom, Cuttlefish Bone, Tufa Stone, Sand, Natural objects, and Lost Wax. Each student will learn additive and reductive methods of working with various waxes as well as working with cuttle bone and tufa stone. Ancient bronze and sterling silver will be used for casting processes. Students are responsible for purchasing their own sterling silver casting grain. This class welcomes anyone curious about casting molten metal!
