In this two-day workshop, students will be encouraged to think big—conceptualizing a piece or series of ceramic furniture they’d love to create. From that big idea, they’ll bring it to life on a smaller scale by building a maquette.
I will guide students through various handbuilding techniques—primarily slabs and coils—while demonstrating different materials, building methods, and firing processes, along with the unique benefits of each approach.
This is a hands-on, exploratory workshop designed to equip students with the tools and confidence to transform ambitious ideas into physical form. With these techniques, the possibilities are endless.
