This course introduces students to creating a bezel- set shell ring, focusing on foundational metalsmithing skills while completing a polished, wearable piece within a single session. Students will build confidence by working with metal and leaving with a unique, coastal- inspired ring. Students will work with pre-made ring bands and bezel settings, allowing them to focus on essential techniques such as soldering components together, refining surfaces through filing and sanding, and securely setting a shell. Emphasis is placed on proper torch use, clean solder joins, and achieving a smooth finish. All materials are provided for students. This three-hour class is a beginner- friendly and guided step-by-step, ensuring each student successfully completes their ring.
