Days & Times:
Thursdays - 1 - 4pm
Level:
Beginning to Intermediate
Location:

This class will include detailed instructions for a wide range of alternative firing processes. The focus will be on design elements that can be incorporated into either wheel-thrown or hand-built pieces. As the preparation of greenware is critical to these processes, sufficient time will be spent on how to trim, smooth, and/or texturize the clay surfaces (e.g., burnishing, Terra Sigillata, sodium silicate, etc.). Finally, glaze selection/application, decorations, firing schedules, and the post-firing reduction will be emphasized.
