Felting and Fiber Design for Teens
Days & Times:
Location:395 Seabrook Road - Studio G
This two-day intensive workshop will function as an introduction to the world of fiber arts. During work time, teen students will have the opportunity to flex their creativity by making both 2D and 3D art from a range of materials. Time will be spent learning the art of both dry and wet felting, basic embroidery/ sewing skills, weaving techniques, and beading/embellishing skills.
These skills will be used to create one wearable piece of art and a sculptural animal or monster.
Some parts of this workshop will focus on altering and embellishing clothing to create wearable art. Teens should feel free to bring a pair of jeans or a shirt that they would like to alter or at the very least don’t mind working on.
All other materials are included.
This workshop runs from 9:00 am – 2:30 pm. Students must bring their own lunch and snacks.
