Days & Times:

Thursday June 17th - 10am-12pm
Studio G

In this 2 day workshop you will learn the process of using a kiln to join together a variety of glass pieces into one solid piece of art. Abstract designs can be achieved in glass fusion using a variety of colors and glass materials such as sheet glass, frit and stringers. The first week we will work on choosing colors and a design. You will learn how to cut glass and transform it into an abstract pattern. The second week you will learn about frit and stringers and how to apply them to your design to create a one of a kind kiln formed piece of art glass! You can then have it slumped into a mold for a functional dish or hang it for display. Bring along a picture of something you might like to create! All materials and firing included. Please wear closed toed shoes, comfortable clothes and an apron if you have one. All guests of the gallery are required to wear a mask, if students do not have a mask the ArtCenter will supply one.
