Intermediate to Advanced Jewelry & Metalsmithing

Days & Times:
Thursdays - 2pm-5pm
Studio J

Students will be introduced to intermediate and advanced techniques of metalsmithing through instructor demonstrations and one-on-one instruction. With 30+ years experience, Gustavo Hoefs will take students on a journey of more complex soldering and fabrication, faceted stone settings, and hammer forming (anticlastic and synclastic) to create beautiful, wearable jewelry. Moving through how to use various jewelry tools and when to use them, the purpose of dremel/flex shaft bits, and surface treatments (patinas, textures, polishing), students will come out with a unique, one of a kind piece of jewelry. Previous use of the torch/soldering and jeweler’s saw is required.
