Intro to Glass Casting

Instructor:

Students will be instructed and led through the introductory process of glass casting using the tin can and lost wax method. Demonstrations will include wax working and the two key factors in glass casting; mold-making and kiln firing. Through mold-making, students will be shown how to properly mix investments and develop molds able to withstand the intense heat of the kiln. Instruction on how to load and program a kiln to fire and a firing schedule will be available for future reference. The class will be hosted on consecutive 2 Mondays, March 13 and March 20.
