Through demonstrations and individualized instruction, students will learn the foundations of handbuilding by creating a pinch pot, a coil vase, and a slab-built vessel. Students will also learn about the stages of clay, attaching techniques, clay safety, proper storage methods, and concept development/sketching. This class will give students a comprehensive overview of the basics of sculpting with clay and the ideas central to creating compelling three-dimensional vessels and sculptures. No previous clay experience is required.
