Level:All Levels Welcome
Learn how to create a sculpture influenced by Louise Nevelson (1899-1988). Nevelson is known for her monochromatic wood assemblages. During this workshop, students will find treasures on the street, at the beach, in the garbage, and even in their closets. This style of sculpting is a great way to develop a visual narrative piece and/or push the basic elements of design – negative and positive space, shape, form, surface, etc.. Techniques will include nailing, stapling, wire wrapping, threading, chemical bonding, liquid nails, cold connections, and painting. This workshop is designed to start a sculpture, depending on intricacies and number of pieces in various segments determines completion.
