Create a series of mini landscape scenes in this 4-week class. Students will learn how to create detailed miniature landscape paintings of fused glass using crushed glass called frit and other small pieces of compatible glass and materials. These one-of-a-kind glass art pieces may then be framed or displayed on an easel. The class will include tips and considerations on creating dimension and depth with the use of color, contrast, shadow, details, and scale, creating depth in the landscape painting process as well as the kiln and firing schedules used to create the final textured finish. Glass palette sizes to choose from will be 5×5 or 4×6, up to 4 per person. This technique may then be used on larger fused glass works once you become familiar with the process in our upcoming Independent Study classes or Open Studio! All materials and firing are included in your tuition.
