In this 4 week Optics in Glass class Students will learn how to change the dimensions of their glass art dish by experimenting with various layout pattern possibilities. By making a few seemingly minor changes to our glass sizes and shapes along with different spacing patterns there is quite a major difference in the design created upon firing. These glass components bring an entirely new look to the glass composition. Learn how to cut very specific sizes in glass and lay out precise patterns over stringers with them. The ebb and flow of the glass in heat is an amazing look in fused glass.Students will then learn how firing schedules work for fusing and to prepare their molds for slumping afterwards.

Materials and firing schedules are supplied for this project with Additional materials and firing schedules available for purchase.

Please wear closed toes shoes, comfortable clothes and an apron.
