Participants will learn how to re-create a master work of art in their own personal style. The course will focus on a new way of using color, mark-making (drawing with paint) and the use of the grid to find structure and depth in the composition of the rectangle. Participants will work from a printed copy of a master work each week. Some painting experience is recommended.

Brushes: variety of sizes and shapes (rounds, flats, filberts)
Palette knives for mixing and painting
Selection of painting surfaces: up to “16×20”, Arches oil primed painting pad for oils,
- highly recommended, or acrylic primed watercolor paper, 90lb or higher, painting panels and or primed & unstretched cotton duck, and or stretched canvases
- ability to customize the size of your support is helpful to the process
Board for supporting unstretched canvas or paper
Cotton Rags or Viva Paper towels
Ruler: 18” or larger
Sketch pad pencils or charcoal
Odorless mineral spirits and containers
- Gamsol recommended
Artist tape
- white only

Full Range of Paint Colors: *suggested only, not required

*the use of colors in your stock is suitable

*Optional limited range of paint colors:
