Let the glass flow in this fun 4 week class! Create a one of a kind fused glass platter or free standing art piece for decorative and / or functional use.Students will learn how heat, viscosity and gravity work to create unique organic designs in glass.Mix and match a variety of glass colors to create bars of beautiful glass layers that will be tack fused together. The glass bars will be fused into individual stacks so there is no need to use a tile saw after the fusing. The glass will then be set up in unique patterns in a prepared mold that will controll the flow and form in the final fusing. Coldworking the glass using diamond hand lap pads and grinders will be taught to finish off the edges. A variety of slumping molds will be available to create the final shape of the one of a kind piece of art glass you will be proud to use and display! Materials and firing schedules are supplied for this project with Additional materials and firing schedules available for purchase. Please wear closed toes shoes, comfortable clothes and an apron.
