Working directly from great master paintings and/or drawings, we will deepen our understanding of the hidden processes contained in a work of art, revealing its structure, color harmonies, and pictorial ideas created in the mind of the artist. The emphasis of the class is to apply this newfound knowledge to our own paintings while working from observation in the studio. Our goal will be to strengthen the overall visual aesthetic of the work made in the studio.
