This class will teach students the basics of sculpting in water-based clay, by creating a 15” – 18” figure from a live model. Students will learn visible anatomy and proportions and how to use the shape and the planes of the body to obtain a general likeness. The class will also concentrate on different ways of modeling the individual parts of the human body, such as the hands, arms, legs, and feet, by using specific modeling tools. Once the pieces are fired, the class will discuss some finishing and mounting techniques. This class includes 25lbs of clay, firing, and live model.
