Sculpting the Human Head : Portrait with Eduardo Gomez

Instructor:

The workshop will cover basic anatomy of the head and anatomical proportions. It will also cover anatomical issues related to aging and race and facial expressions. It will teach students how to use the shape and the planes of the face to obtain a general likeness. We will also study different ways of modeling the individual parts such as the nose, lips, ears and eyes. Certain surface finishing techniques will also be covered.

The class will also cover basic design issues involved in designing a bust sculpture as well as how to prepare it for firing or molding, and different mounting options. Workshop includes 25lbs of low fire clay and one bisque firing.
