In this workshop, participants will learn how to create sculptural pots for daily use through utilizing a coil and pinch technique. Kate will also demonstrate how she creates her surfaces with terra sigillata, wax resist, and a wash. Participants will hand-build cups, mugs, or bowls of their own design and plan their surface decoration. The first two days of the workshop will focus primarily on the coil and pinch technique, but towards the end of the second day terra sigillata will be introduced. Any pots that are bone dry for the third day will be decorated with terra sigillata, Kate will then demonstrate the steps she completes between the bisque and glaze firings.
