This workshop is designed for more advanced students who are interest or curious about casting their sculptures in bronze. Using a live model, the students will sculpt a full figure sculpture in a standing position using plasteline oil-based clay. This clay does not dry or shrink, thereby preventing cracking when used on a metal armature, enabling the sculptor to create thin body parts such as arms, legs, hands and fingers as well as flowing open poses.

Beyond the Workshop: Since the sculpture cannot be fired this piece will need to be taken to a foundry so that molds can be made and used to make a lost wax casting. The instructor will consider organizing a day trip to the foundry for those who are interested. The fee for this will be separate from the workshop. The costs of the foundry work as well as the supervision of the work therein, will be the responsibility of each student.
