Traditional Marbling on Paper, Silks & Cottons with Carrageenan & Acrylics

Unlike many Art Forms which take years to master, marbling will inspire you with instant gratification and success! Peggy teaches the traditional marbling techniques using carrageenen (powdered seaweed) and acrylic paints. You will learn patterns of Feather, Bird Wing, Chevron, Peacock, Spanish Wave, Stone Marble etc. You will create 20-30 marbled papers AND fabrics which can be incorporated into greeting cards, scrapbooking, quilting (fat quarters), collages, framed art, journal covers and so much more. Reference books & handout packet provided.  All materials are included in the tuition!

Learn to make a raw edge floral bouquet still life, creating your very own original fiber collage. Easy for any level. Use pre-printed floral fabrics or learn to cut your own. Easy fast fusing. Explore designing with your intuitive side and discover those serendipitous moments. No sewing machine is required. No patterns are needed. Finishing options will be shown and discussed.

Art Quilts 101

Art Quilts 101 Beginners welcome! Starting simple, you will learn how to collage your fabrics and scraps and use a fusible web for fast and easy designing. Explore your own creativity. Learn to work spontaneously and intuitively with color and design elements to create your own one-of-a-kind art quilt to hang and display. You have permission to play with your own color palette and create your own adventure in Art Quilts. There are no rules and no patterns. This is a fun and playful class and it will inspire endless ideas. No sewing machine is needed, but stitching tips and finishing techniques will be shown and discussed. This is a process class and finishing will be done on your own. Ideas and examples will be shown for inspiration. Design as you go. Minimal or no piecing, no patterns, no math, stress-free, no rules, and no mistakes.

You will learn patterns such as Feather, Bird Wing, Chevron, Peacock, etc. to create 20-25 marbled papers/fabrics which can be incorporated into greeting cards, scrapbooking, quilting (fat quarters), collages, framed art, journal covers and so much more. You will also create 1-2 long silk scarves. Reference books & handout packet provided. All materials are included in the tuition.
